    Notes
    • Arno was killed in a two car accident that involved eleven people. Nine people were killed in this accident. Four young guys from the Osman area had gone to Manitowoc for something to eat after
being at Tourist Inn in Cleveland to a dance. A family of seven people, were on their way to Green Bay to view the Cherry blossoms, when the two cars collided on a curve several miles north of Osman. It tore both vehicles in half and people were strewn all around. There were no seat belts in those days.
When we got to Manitowoc to visit Arno, one could hear the patients of the accident from outside of the building. Several people did not die instantly, but all nine died within three days. The other family treated us as though we killed their family, and would not talk to us at all.

Arno was a very good pitcher for the Osman baseball club, and had many faithful fans who have remembered him. He is buried at the Liberty Bell Church cemetery in the town of Liberty, next to his
      mother.
